Bulgaria is situated in Southeast Europe, in the Balkans, west of Black sea and south of Danube river. Bulgaria is bordered by Greece and Turkey to the south, Serbia and North Macedonia to the west. It covers a territory of 110,994 square kilometres and is the sixteenth-largerst country in Europe. Sofia is the nation’s capital other major cities include Burgas, Varna, and Plovdiv. It has perfect location with long lasting traditions. Some of the earliest societies in the lands of modern-day Bulgaria was the Karanovo Culture (6,500 BC).
In the 6th to 3rd century BC, the region was a battleground for ancient Thracians, Persians, Celts and Macedonians; stability came when the Roman Empire conquered the region in AD 45. After the Roman state splintered, tribal invasions in the region resumed. Around the 6th century, these territories were settled by the early Slavs. The Bulgars, led by Asparuh, attacked from the lands of Old Great Bulgaria and permanently invaded the Balkans in the late 7th century.
Bulgaria features notable diversity with the landscape ranging from the snow-capped peaks in Rila, Pirin and the Balkan Mountains to the mild and sunny Black Sea coast and southernmost valleys; from the typically continental Danubian Plain (ancient Moesia) in the north to the strong Mediterranean climatic influence in the valleys of Macedonia and in the lowlands in the southernmost of Thrace, the lowest parts of the Upper Thracian Plain, along the Maritsa River, the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Most of the country is situated within the humid continental climate region, with Alpine climate in the highest mountains and subtropical climate in the southernmost regions.
The mean monthly temperature in the country ranges from -1℃ to 22 °C. Coldest temperatures are experienced in the northern winter months of December and January and warmest temperatures during northern hemisphere summer months of July and August. Over the past century, the region has experienced gradual warming while the intensity and length of heat waves has increased in the Mediterranean region. Monthly mean precipitation ranges from 40-71 mm and varies seasonally; May and June have the highest levels of precipitation while two periods (February and March, and August and September) have the lowest levels of precipitation. Precipitation has varied over the past century, with recent short-term increases in precipitation that have resulted in flooding.
Bulgaria’s EU accession in 2007 raised expectations that living standards would rapidly rise and match average EU levels in a relatively short time span. By 2023, convergence reached 64% of the average GDP per capita in the EU in purchasing power parity terms but the country remains the poorest EU member state. From 2016 to 2020, economic growth led to improved living standards and significant poverty reduction. After COVID thе number of people from all around Europe start to move in Bulgaria to live more calm life within the nature.
Tourism in Bulgaria is a significant contributor to the country’s economy. Situated at the crossroads of the East and West, Bulgaria has been home to many civilizations: Thracians, Greeks, Romans, Eastern Romans or Byzantines, Slavs, Bulgars, and Ottomans. The country is rich in tourist sights and historical artifacts, scattered through a relatively small and easily accessible territory. Bulgaria is internationally known for its seaside and winter resorts.
Bulgaria attracts nearly 12 million foreign tourists yearly, according Tourists from Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweeden and other western countries are rising every year. Bulgarians are very hospitable and open to foreigners
“Serdika” group is the biggest provider of elderly care services with 9 locations all across the country. It has more than 800 residents with different stories and needs.
It combines full aspect of medical and social service in hospital, rehabilitation center, elderly care homes and hospices. Experience passed down through three generations ensures a special and personal approach to our work.s
For us, “care” is much more than a word. It is a way of life. We know that everything in nature needs fertile soil to grow. That is why the idea for “Serdika” Residence and Home for the elderly or more commonly known as a nursing home, is based on our years of experience in healthcare.
We gathered all of our passion and knowledge to create our last project in Pomorie. The building is 50 meters from the beach and will be our most complex and comprehensive activity. The goal is to be able to provide full social-medical service from people all around the world. The city is 20 km away from airport and the city of Burgas the biggest city in the area. This perfect location provides good balance between calm and tranquil life and fast connection to the main city for more modern way of life and medical services.

In accordance with our vision to provide high level of medical and social service we are in reconstruction of a hotel in the heart of the city. It will be modernized according to all requirements for elderly care home. With 5 floors and more than 150 rooms it will has different areas for people with varieties of needs. Amenities for rehabilitation, relax zone, outside garden will be available for walks and beautiful sunsets right on the beach.
